What is SPRUKE?

SPRUKE is Brisbane’s Ukulele Festival.
Share, Perform and Relax with your Uke in the beautiful Brisbane spring weather.
Our festival theme is Uke’n Make Music.

Where is SPRUKE?

The SPRUKE 2019 Festival site is at SunPAC – Sunnybank Performing Arts Complex. SunPAC is located next door to the Sunnybank Community and Sports Club, 470 McCullough Street, Sunnybank 4109.

When is SPRUKE 2019?

The weekend of 13 — 15 September. Spring!
SPRUKE will start with an evening concert on Friday 13 September. There’s workshops and live performances Saturday and Sunday, finishing with all the excitement of the Festival Finale on Sunday afternoon. Download the At-A-Glance Day Program and Festival Map SPRUKE2019_DAYProgram_MAP.

How do I get to SPRUKE?

Close to the M1,M2 and M3, SunPAC is easily accessible and is 15 mins from the Brisbane CBD by car.  SunPAC has lots of FREE carparks.

Where can I stay?

There are many options for accommodation close to the festival site at Sunnybank and the surrounding suburbs, caravan parks, hotels and B&B’s.

Featured acts Ukulele Death Squad, Thin White Ukes, The Loveys, Mama Juju and the Jam Tarts, Gypsy Rumble, Vic Kena and YouTube sensation and jazz diva Cynthia Lin, join more than 30 acts from all over Australia at four stages throughout SunPAC.

Can I perform at SPRUKE?

Sorry ‘expression of interest’ to perform at SPRUKE 2019 are now closed.
If you’ve miss out step up to the Makai Open Mic and show us what you can do! Get your name down with the MC at the beginning of each session at the SunPAC Courtyard Cafe.

When can I buy tickets to the SPRUKE events?

Tickets for the Cordoba Sprooky Cabaret, Lanikai Spruketacular Concert, the SPRUKE workshops which are ticketed, as well as the Cynthia Lin Workshop & Jam in the week after SPRUKE 2019, are now available from the EVENTS page. The separate events are linked directly to the booking page for you to save time.

Where can I get tickets to SPRUKE events

All tickets are available at the SunPAC Box Office. To purchase online go to www.sunpac.net.au/whatson or you can buy your tickets at the Box Office up to one hour before the event if there are any available!

The SunPAC transaction fee is $4:50 and applies per transaction regardless of number of tickets purchased. You can buy more than one ticket at a time. Before you checkout there is a button that says ADD MORE ITEMS. It opens to a page with a drop down list of all the SunPAC events. Choose your next event and repeat until you have chosen all your tickets.

Do I need a Ukulele to be a part of SPRUKE?

If you have one bring it. There will be ukulele retailers and manufacturers here in the market if you want to buy a uke or accessories or check out the range at one of our sponsors stores. Find all our SPRUKE sponsors HERE.

Even if you don’t play ukulele you’ll enjoy the concerts, open mic space jams and daily performances….we encourage singing along!

I’ve not played for long should I come?

YES! SPRUKE 2019 will have workshops for every level of ability from newbies to accomplished musicians. Designed particularly for new players is the FREE Learn to Play Ukulele Workshop on Saturday and Sunday morning, and the Beginners Ukulele Oasis where you can learn a song every half an hour.  As well as workshops there will be jams, an open mic space and concerts to inspire you.
