SPRUKE 2021 — Brisbane’s Ukulele Festival is very exited to announce the headline acts for this years festival.

It’s a different event this year with one BIG uke day out culminating in the Spruketacular concert in a new venue at Seven Hills.

We are so fortunate to have such talented and critically acclaimed acts right here in our own backyard!

Tyrone & Lesley — Tyrone & Lesley are Australia’s best ukulele and double bass duo, pairing high and low in a binary orbit in the sparkling song space around the uke. Their battery powered torch songs and even odder numbers make them headliners with subtext. More details.

“The subtlety behind each and every well-chosen note, the way the instruments braid themselves together, the clever intricacies in the timing and dynamics are sublime.” (Uke Magazine)

The Kenas — Vic and Kerrie have been performing professionally for more than 20 years together to audiences in both Australia and New Zealand in their group Wild Card. Vic is considered one of Australia and New Zealand’s finest ukulele players, and is also a featured Kanile’a ‘Ukulele artist. Although the musical talents of each member are exceptional one has to agree that the real strength and power of this trio comes from their pitch perfect vocal dulcet tones. This places The Kenas in a class all on their own. More details.

Mama Juju & The Jam Tarts – Juju, Trish, Vicky and Connie – always create a fun, upbeat vibe whenever they perform. They play original songs which feature ukulele, but also like to find kooky, unusual or unexpected songs and arrange them for the ukulele. You’ll be treated to quirky, unique music with jazz, blues, world folk and rock influences, stunning vocal harmonies, exciting song arrangements, a touch of naughtiness and an infectious energy. More details.

All of our headline acts are conducting workshops during the day. You’ll have to wait to find out what those are! The full day program with free performances all day on two stages, open mics and nine workshops will be announced next week.

Add Saturday 18 September to your calendar, and get ready for a big uke day out with your friends!
