SPRUKE Festival Postponed to 2022

No Comments SPRUKE Festival News

Due to the uncertainty created by growing interstate numbers of positive cases with the Delta variant, and the possibility of further lockdowns and other restrictions in Queensland, it appears increasingly unlikely that it will be safe for BUMS Inc to run SPRUKE on 18 September 2021.

It’s our first priority to keep all our members and their families safe, healthy and worry-free. After much deliberation the BUMS Management Committee is postponing SPRUKE until we are able to run a carefree, COVID-safe, fun festival in true ukulele style. We are investigating a new date in the first half of 2022.

We’d like to thank all the wonderful performers and presenters who responded in record time to help keep our planning on track over the past two months. Our intent is to re-engage our performers and presenters if they are available for 2022.

We strongly believe this decision is in the best interest of all our members. Postponing SPRUKE to 2022 will give time for a safer and more stable environment in the community, and allow us to expand our festival program and present our best festival yet.
