Mic Conway is coming to SPRUKE

No Comments Artist

Mic Conway, Aria Award winning performer, singer, musician, songwriter and creator of musical instruments will be performing at SPRUKE, Brisbane’s Ukulele Festival 20-22 September. Conway has achieved popularity from his participation in the 1970s band Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band. He is a nationwide hero for many 3-year olds as Magic Mic on “Humphrey Bear” and from his performances in Soapbox Circus and Circus Oz.

“I am tremendously excited by Mic agreeing to come to Spruke, if a little afraid!” said John Henderson club president. “He is an awesome performer, with an immense repertoire of skills and instruments. He assures me that as well as magic, circus and mayhem he will play ukulele and sing.”

Mic will be performing his “Magic Mic’s Rubbish Show” on Saturday afternoon for big and little kids alike, then Mic Conway with Mick Diggles perform their stripped back, irreverent, and shameless vaudeville act with songs from their new album “Street of Dreams” in Saturday Nights Concert.

Based in Sydney Mic has toured Australia, NZ, USA, UK and Asia. He has credits in film, TV and live theatre as well being a prolific composer and performer. Mic’s down-to-earth humour and love of fun is certain to delight festival goers of all ages.
