A Maton Ukulele is the result of combining the best of traditional ukulele design with 21st century production techniques. Handmade in Melbourne this instrument draws on Maton’s extensive background in the use and fine tuning of Australian tonewoods to produce a tone which is rich, full and intriguing, and which evokes the timeless sounds of the classic Hawaiian ukuleles of time gone by.
After the initial success of the Blackwood ukulele was established and the building methods sorted out Maton started trying out all sorts of woods with some amazing results. To date they have used have used Victorian Blackwood, Satinbox, Western Red Cedar, Bunya and Silky Oak and the ukes are all good and each has their own character.
Expanding the range of beautiful Ukuleles available Maton have just completed their very first Tenor models.
