Mama Juju & The Jam Tarts

Thought you would never be able to write a song? Mama Juju & The Jam Tarts will show you how easy it is and that it can be done in an hour. In fact, the band was once put on the spot to write a radio jingle in a few minutes and then play it live on air! Over more years than we care to remember, we have all individually written/ recorded songs for various projects including jingles, musical theatre and childrens songs and also written and recorded our originals as a band. But this workshop is not about us and we are not going to stand there talking at you for the whole time. We will all be far too busy with the fun parts- writing and playing. The whole band will be there with the tools to help guide you.
The Song Writing Game workshop is a fun interactive concept that will involve the entire workshop group. The first and quickest part of the workshop will cover the direction of the song and the basic elements we need such as theme, key words, structure, chords, melody, imagery, feel/ emotion and style. Then we will get down to the nitty gritty of writing and then playing the song. Heard of speed dating? This is speed song writing!
We guarantee it will be loads of fun and we will have collectively written and be playing a song on our ukes by the end of the workshop. Includes a recording of the song, plus lyrics and chord chart sent out to participants.

ABOUT Mama Juju & The Jam Tarts

Mama Juju & The Jam Tarts workshop group performs the composition from The Song Writing Game workshop at SPRUKE On The Square on The Morris Brothers Stage at 4:00 pm.

Mama Juju & The Jam Tarts – Juju, Trish, Vicky and Cath – always create a fun, upbeat vibe whenever they perform. They play original songs which feature ukulele but also like to find and arrange kooky, unusual or unexpected songs for the ukulele. Quirky, unique music with jazz, blues, world folk and rock influences, stunning vocal harmonies, exciting song arrangements, a touch of naughtiness and an infectious energy.

See them perform at the Night In Paris Cabaret
