Strum Like Jake with Ian Porter
This workshop is open to intermediate and advanced players who can read some TAB, have a sense of rhythm and who want to incorporate some more advanced strumming techniques into their everyday playing – this is not a beginners’ triple-strumming class!
A handout is provided which Ian uses to demonstrate ghost-note patterns commonly found in Jake Shimabukuro’s arrangements. By the end of the class you will be showing off to your friends and family. There is a handout and a short video provided for students to view after the class.
Ian Porter is a Sydney-based musician & certified James Hill Ukulele Initiative teacher. He brings out the inner musician in all his students in a fun, challenging environment. This class uses Jake’s My Guitar Gently Weeps to teach the five strumming patterns used in many of Jake’s arrangements.
