It is with much regret that Becoming Your Own Band (Looping) Workshop has been postponed due to the impact of COVID on our community. This workshop will be rescheduled for the next few months. All ticket bookers have been emailed 2 June 2022 via Trybooking.

Bored with the old strum and sing? Ever wanted to have all the ideas in your head played out loud?
Learn how to level up your creativity and playing with the world of live looping.
A solo artist’s best friend and a great way to get better at playing in time the loop pedal can be used in a variety of ways. You will learn from Brisbane’s Live Looping Ukulele Princess and Lead Coach of The Ukulele Rockers – Miss Elm.
Come along for this interactive and exciting workshop to learn the modern way of solo jamming.
Covered in workshop:

    • Creating your own backing track
    • Create your own rhythm
    • Using the ukulele as percussion
    • Riff layering
    • Vocal layering and harmonization
    • How to improvise
    • Special effects with pedals

Level of Experience Required: Intermediate to advanced (for interactive participants)– knowledge of basic rhythm + harmony helpful however beginners can also watch.

ABOUT MISS ELM
Erin Harrington (Bachelor of Popular Music; Trinity Music College Cert V in Singing)
A singer-songwriter and performer in her acclaimed band Miss Elm, Erin specialises in ukulele, singing and keyboard. Having worked at Morris Brothers Music Store for many years, she knows ukuleles inside out, and enjoys adding weird and wonderful ukes to her growing collection. Erin performed at SPRUKE 2015 and toured interstate spreading the ukulele love to Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Perth. Erin became an official Lanikai Artist and Endorsee in 2019 http://lanikaiukuleles.com/artists/.
