AUTLA Ukulele Teachers & Leaders Sharing & Support Day
AUTLA is the Australian Ukulele Teachers and Leaders Association Inc. The association supports and promotes the teaching of ukulele in the community, and as a part of school music programs.
You can check out the aims of AUTLA on the website at www.autla.org.au. At SPRUKE 2017, AUTLA is providing a forum for ukulele teachers and leaders to discuss and share information about community and school ukulele groups, to play music together, and to have some serious fun!

Ukulele Leader Group Therapy – ‘It happened to me!’ is a day for exploring the issues experienced by ukulele groups leaders including:
- ‘Setting up your uke’: How to make a cheap uke sound good!
- Teaching strategies for your groups: strumming tips and tricks
- Changing your strummers into riffers
- Training your group to sing harmony
- Maintaining a harmonious culture in your group
- Arranging songs for your group: 5 step process
- Conducting a group: including clear count-ins and good direction
- Repertoire for schools
