City Sounds Performances Countdown to SPRUKE 2017

No Comments SPRUKE Festival News

Brisbane Ukulele Music Society Inc. (BUMS) is thrilled to be invited back to perform at City Sounds on Friday 30 September. City Sounds is Australia’s largest free live music program, presenting local and touring bands and artists in the Queen Street Mall, Post Office Square, South Bank and other locations around Brisbane each week.

In 2015 headline acts for SPRUKE drew large crowds as they showcased the ukulele with an eclectic range of acts. This City Sounds event marks the one-year countdown to SPRUKE 2017 and features nine performing BUMS acts. A performing BUM or band will play on the hour every hour at the main stage in the Queen Street Mall from noon until 8:00pm.

“City Sounds is a taste of things to come” said Max Borchardt Festival Director, “Uke players at city sounds are amongst our top Brisbane strummers … like what you see at City Sounds? You’ll love SPRUKE in 2017!”

Keep your eye on the home page as the countdown clock starts tomorrow. The twelve months will fly by as the Festival Committee, a most dedicated group of volunteers, pull together to deliver another unique event on the Brisbane music calendar.
